If you’re gonna do this, might as well delete your AI account

On YouTube a couple months ago:

I was watching this paid ads expert I follow.

And he was showing how he set up his AI agents…

… to automate his email list!

But while it wasn’t something I’d ever do in my business (I just like geeking out and watching this sorta tech stuff because I’m curious about what the big guys are up to), when he got to the part where he was like:

“Ok. Right here, you have to prompt the AI and tell it to make some spelling errors. And make some grammar mistakes. Just a couple. So people will know that this isn’t an AI writing. Or they’ll click away and stop reading.”

I started going…

“Dude, if you’re gonna do this, you might as well just delete your whole AI account. Then write your own emails as fast and sloppily as you can. And send them out without editing. Then they’ll DEFINITELY know it ain’t an AI writing…”

But that aside:

Making your stuff sound and look more natural is no joke.

I once talked about how I did an experiment with the wifey. And we tried adding some AI artwork to one of her stores without saying it was AI. Just trying to see whether anyone’d buy it.

Looked just as good as her other hand-drawn art (maybe).

But…

… people avoided it like the plague!

Why?

Because it was too artificially perfect.

Even if it looked close…

… people could sense it at the back of their minds from a mile away.

And I guess, it subconsciously scares them!

Because test after test, over decades have shown that ‘natural’ works best most of the time. It’s just more relatable. Low-brow landing pages convert better than highly-polished, over-the-top designs (most of the time, unless you’re maybe… selling those designs to marketers… who want to resell those designs to someone else… then it’s a different story).

But, it’s the same for selfie videos.

Where you just film yourself talking while walking around.

They just convert way better than high-end, NatGeo style production. (Something one of my mentors tested on his channel.)

And in the AI-era…

.. you also have people like me…

… who click away at the drop of a hat…

… if your email ever ‘smells’ like it was pooped-on by AI.

But:

Regardless, there’s actually one type of natural ‘word pattern’ you should probably never use these days. No matter how ‘human’ it looks or feels.

Because it used to be good practice.

And good copywriting.

But now?

Since it’s been loaded as a default into CrapGPT and almost every AI model out there, it’s been desecrated to the point that… it’s almost like spraying graffiti on the Mona Lisa!

The moment people see this ‘pattern’…

… they look at your stuff in disgust and think, “The nerve of this guy!”

And click away.

Even if you really wrote it yourself.

It’s a bit sad really.

Because it used to be a very valid technique for getting more engagement, and getting people sucked into your copy until they bought.

But… I guess we gotta keep up with the times…

I talk about this exact word pattern in my new 21 One-Minute Word Hacks collection, and how you can avoid it. Plus, several very simple, but much more profitable, ‘word patterns’ you can use while you’re writing instead.

If you don’t want to end up sounding like AI, that is…

… while AI is trying to sound like you!

And if you wanna ‘suck in’ as much people as possible into your content (or copy), while getting them to ‘binge’ on all of it… till they finally ‘burst at the seams’ and hit the checkout counter.
