I’ve been reading my collection of One Minute Word Hacks again.
Another 3 times, actually…
… over the past couple of days.
Why?
Well, the reason is simple.
And it’s not just because it’s ‘good stuff’. Which it is, ain’t no doubt about that. But still, why do I keep reading the stuff that I myself wrote, over and over and over again? Like a narcissist looking at his own reflection in the mirror?
Well:
Because…
I don’t ever wanna forget it!
And that’s saying something, considering that…
I’ve probably forgotten more stuff than most people have ever learned in their whole lives. Considering how much I’m reading and learning each and every day.
But that all said…
… it’s actually a much more serious problem than you think when it comes to …
… good marketing!
How so?
Well, you see:
Whenever you read (or listen to) a sloppy piece of AI trash, you start typing (and writing) sloppy trash outta your fingers too. And when you start reading a book that was written so badly, you sorta regret reading the whole thing? Well, you start writing like that too.
And maybe even speaking like it.
And making people’s reading time a living hell.
Which is an even bigger problem when, like me, you read a ton of books.
Some of which have tons of good insights…
… but atrocious writing that would make you puke.
To the point that:
If you read stuff like that too much, you’ll start to forget how you originally wrote stuff. And start talking like the tongue-tied, technically-minded, marketing-clueless authors in the books you read.
But, this is also why…
All the greatest copywriters in history, people like Gary Halbert, Gary Bencivenga, Scott Haines, and more, all spent lots (lots) of time studying the best of the best of multi-million dollar, record-breaking sales copy… almost every day!
While even copying it out by hand.
Especially before writing copy of their own.
Because if they didn’t…
… their ‘copywriting brain cells’ would eventually get polluted by all the crappy copy you’re reading everywhere…
… and eventually…
… they’d start creating content and writing like worst-selling authors, with hardly a penny in their bank accounts!
Which is also why:
I don’t just read great copy daily (and study it too)… but…
… I also read all the stuff I’ve written about…
… how to create great copy!
And content.
That’s so addictive, it’s like eating chips, chocolate, cookies, and cake, while sipping on a cup of fresh hot cocoa cappuccino. So I never forget how to do it. No matter how polluted my brain cells get from reading atrociously written books. And articles. And videos.
Anyways:
I’m opening up my 21 One-Minute Word Hacks again.
Just for a couple of days, since I’m currently reading (and re-reading) it.
And since words are basically the foundation of all great marketing, copywriting, and content creation… but most people have nary a clue about what words they shouldn’t be using if they don’t want viewership (and readership) dropping off like a rock into the sea, and… which words they should be using instead if they want to instantly grab and keep attention till people actually buy.
All of which is stuff you’ll discover in my epic work.
And which, like me, you can start binging on right here if you haven’t already:
